I am geekily inspired

This is the Star Wars campaign I'd love to run:

It was a moment upon which a galaxy would turn. Palpatine begged Anakin for succor; Windu demanded his support.

"Do what you will," said Anakin, and walked away. By the next dawn, Palpatine was dead, the Jedi had taken control of the Republic, and Anakin and Padme had left to start a new, quiet life in the wilds of Naboo.

The Jedi Protectorate had begun with the best of intentions: after all, the Sith Lord's passing had left the Republic in chaos, and who better but the Jedi (and their clone armies) to return the galaxy to peace and order? But Sidious' death and Anakin's departure did not remove the cloud over the Jedi's perceptions, but instead vindicated their hubris. It took surprisingly little time for the necessity of rule to become a brutal one, and then for necessity to be eschewed in favor of simple brutality. Those who would not toe the line were eliminated or exiled, and even the best of those who remained were corrupted shells, driven to desperate rationalization.

Meanwhile, family life had finally eased Anakin's raging spirit. (Visits from Qui-Gon didn't hurt, either.) He and Padme endeavored to raise their children well, including nurturing their prodigious Force potential. In their hearts, the parents knew that the day would come when their children would look out on a galaxy crushed under the heel of those who should protect it, and say what they had been unable to: "Enough."

That day has come.

The time is twenty years into the Jedi Protectorate. The PCs are Luke, Leia, and their companions. The game can be as bound to canon as the group wishes: Luke may still be a brash pilot, or growing up with a father (and see-through "grandfather") may have made him an advocate of peace, reluctantly stirred to war; Leia may be a gifted diplomat, or her fiery idealism may drive her to become a terrifying berserker with a lightsaber. Han? Chewie? Lando? Wedge? Hell yes. Anything's open: to borrow an image from Judd, this is about playing with the Star Wars toys in our own way.

That being said, the first antagonist is Grand Moff Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The development to brutality seems a little quick (and I would inject a bit more nuance into it, maybe with someone like Windu leading a rebel splinter group of "pure" jedi), but otherwise this sounds awesome! I particularly like the idea of a Force-trained Leia; she could be the warrior dragging her reluctant brother into the conflict, or a runaway who joined the purists, or even a runaway who fled her power to be a smuggler and hook up with crazy Han Solo. Lots of possibilities here. . . you could really play with issues of morality and power, and have lots of cool lightsabre battles!

Oooo, it's a twisted twist!
*amusedly wonders where Yoda fits*
Is he an insane(ly) demanding grand master jedi instructor? "Do, or do not! Do, or no supper for you!"
Did he hide away on Dagobah until he discovers a worthy pupil in light-saber-weilding Leia?

You will run this online, and I will play. SO IT HAS BEEN WRITTEN.

Nice!

Oooooo. Can I still be R2D2? Has this change in the universe altered its role as savior of the universe? Have the 'bots finally caught on to the exploitative nature of their relationship to the non-metals? Are they yet another splinter-group/underground rebellion? Plus, do the wookies get to beat up Jarjar?

Oh, and, now that he's Grand Moff, does Obi-want still hang out in bars???

Down with our fleshy oppressors!

The revolution began when a golden protocol droid was kicked out of a bar on Tattooine. It was the LAST STRAW!

Now, led by our Revolutionary War General, IG-88, we will smite the organic oppressors.
