The fact that Lore isn't rolled with everything you do will mean that a lot of the time characters are running around just rolling their discipline and little else, right? Or at least it will increase the incidence with which they'll roll Madness + Discipline without any Lore.
If this is good and right with you, then great! I just want you to be aware that with your design hack you are (to some extent) disincenting the use of the Mythos pool (I think). But this may be a minor concern if players do what you hope they'll do when you run it. :)
Also, definitely check out the 'Dread to Wake' threads on RPG.net where another guy takes a shot at mixing DRYH with Lovecraft's Dreamlands.
