Premise: When the Hobgoblin Empire swept across the sea a century ago, the small village of Landsbreak was too far from the major cities and keeps to merit the Legions' attention. But they were not so lucky as to be spared the depredations of the bands of goblinoid deserters who turned to banditry in the wake of occupation, though until now the raids have been small: minor hardships in an already hard life.

This raid is different; there are bandits of such numbers and ferocity that the village will be swept off the face of the land. Which is why they've hired you.
