I got a job, kinda.
Basically, the Kaplan Baltimore Center has expanded my responsibilities, and with them my hours. In addition to my teaching and training duties, I'll also be picking up 15 hours a week of administrative stuff. Not busywork, either -- I'm going to be in charge of teaching quality control for the center, as well as advisor to the entire faculty there. Since I dig teaching, and training, and talking to teachers about training, I find this development to be thoroughly swell.
As I said, I'll still be teaching, and -- get this -- I'll be in charge of scheduling almost all the classes, with the assumption that I'll give myself first pick of classes, and thus a solid 10-15 hours a week of teaching on top of my admin hours.
My Center Director is hopeful that this position can eventually bridge the last few hours' gap into a full-time job, which would frankly be rather keen. In any case, I've already got my own phone, which is a first.
All in all, I am pleased.
